New Programs
Ages 16-21
Group ABA Therapy
Group Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy program. This after-school program brings teens together in a dynamic, interactive environment under the guidance of our trained ABA therapists. Our focus is on developing crucial social, communication, and cooperative skills. By interacting with peers in a naturalistic setting, participants enhance their social skills through observation, imitation, and peer modeling. We accept Aetna and Horizon (BCBS).

Summer Camp
Hearten Summer Camp offers two weeks of themed activities and outings designed for high school students with developmental disabilities. This program provides an excellent opportunity for participants to build confidence and form friendships in a safe, supportive, and interactive environment. The camp's activities include arts and crafts, swimming, social skills training, sensory-friendly activities, outdoor adventures, and exciting trips. Register with PerformCare for CSOC funding.

Agency-Hire
you or a loved one is approved for New Jersey's Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) services, you can receive in-home support from an approved agency. These services assist individuals with developmental disabilities in living independently with help for daily tasks and personal care. Key programs include Community-Based Supports and Individual Supports under the DDD Medicaid waiver. Hearten, a DDD-approved agency, offers both services.
Parent-Hire
In New Jersey (NJ), Parent Hire allows parents to be paid caregivers for children with developmental disabilities. The process varies between Self-Directed Services (SDS) and DDD-Approved Agencies. SDS offers management flexibility but limits hours, pay rates, and lacks benefits. Agencies like Hearten manage paperwork, taxes, allow overtime, pay higher rates, and provide benefits such as health and dental.
